The 17th Century was one of the most exciting historical times for Woburn Abbey. Life was very political and certainly not boring during the English Civil War. Charles I stayed at Woburn three times – initially as a guest and the last time as a prisoner, when Cromwell came to Woburn for a meeting with the ill fated King. See Woburn through the eyes of someone in the 17th Century , find out about the family that lived here then, their everyday and social lives and how they survived a perilous and uncertain time.
